Man this has become me go to read. It's my favorite thing that I look forward to on Sundays. I believe it gives a good summation of what's happened, while also considering how that will move into the future. I honestly just love the style in which you write it. Keep it up, you do an excellent job. I wish I could pick your brain on my Vanguard portfolio of mostly VTI[in brokerage] and my 2055 tdf in my roth. Also in brokerage is vti, vgt, vht, vbr, vwo and vxus. Now, I've only got a few hundred in vxus, kinda a busy so I already have it type of thing, but I really believe in emerging markets over the next 30 years. As well as Ai and its impact on Healthcare. Vbr cuz I wanted exposure to small cap tilt cuz vti is so heavily tech weighted atm, and vgt cuz, well tech obviously. I often wonder if I have too many etf's, but Healthcare is often seen as a defensive sector which I'm sure I'll want over these next 4 years. Anti immigration rhetoric mixed with tarrifs have the potential to be a market melting combination. Hedge funds are having booming inflows since the tarrifs got announced. I just keep reminding myself, but more when it's on same. Four years will not destroy the next 20-30 year time frame. I just hope we don't have an economic meltdown where oligarchs come in and buy up everything a la soviet union status.
I've been a believer in emerging markets for like the past five years and the story still has yet to play out. From a valuation perspective, they're historically cheap. If you're going to invest in EM, you almost need the 10+ year time frame. Just don't look at the balance along the way.
I'm relatively bullish on healthcare right now. For defensive purposes as much as anything. Based on history, I think it's a real warning if this sector has an extended stretch of outperformance.
